It is actually possible to kill your battery with any power inverter. These are definitely designed to be on when the vehicle is running, otherwise you can kill a battery very quickly. If you're pulling over 150 Watts total constantly, it will be too much for any power inverter you plug into a cigarette lighter. If you are going to be using it for more than 150w, it should be hard wired directly to your car battery like an audio amplifier. It's powerful, but it's not going to replace a home wall outlet.
