The unit has a cigarette-lighter outlet which is connected directly to the battery so you should be able to charge it from another 12V battery. It might take a little time before the internal battery gets enough charge for the voltage to rise to 12V, at which point you should be able to power your items. However, for the internal battery to be charged fully requires a charging source of about 14V.
