• This is a hard drive enclosure. What it does is it holds the new hard drive and connects it to the computer. What you need is a cloning software such as Acronis True Image. That should solve your issue. The Hard drive I recommend is the WD Internal hard drive. The cloning software will cost 50.00 though.

• This unit is designed for new Hard Drive usage. In some cases it may allow you to pull data from a old hard drive, depending on the state of the drive. That is not its intended usage though.
