• Yes, like other hdmi adaptors. Wired AC cord, removable.

• It comes with and requires a small AC adapter. Won't work without it. (I tried)

• Hi...you don't need a power adapter. I just plug into the laptop and then attach a regular HDMI cable and nothing more needed.

• Yes, this needs power. Works great though, my son is using it to switch between his xBox One and xBox 360, works great!
