“I have a laptop that only has one HDMI port. Will this device allow me to connect two external monitors to it and split work between the two? Are there any cons?”

It only allows you to use one thing at a time. It has a button on top of it that lets you go from one port to another. I got it to add a Roku to, and it works great. It shares with a WiiU. I have found no cons yet.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.No it will not. This device will allow you to connect multiple external devices to a single input on a monitor or tv and allow you to switch between which external device is displayed on the screen.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I do not think so, you can only have one source selected at a time. This product is more for if you had a tv with only one hdmi port and needed more to hook up a Blu Ray player, Xbox one or Ps4
