• This unit will only allow one input into the TV to work at a time. It automatically switches, or you can press a button and have it go to a specific input. But not two at a time.

• As long as eveything is connected to the source, in your case the cables should go thru the tv, since it has multiple ports, and connect everything to the tv, so hdmi or digital optical, anything you watch on tv will broadcast in surround sound, great thing just an fyi, most new tvs have a a black box called u connect (samsung brand example) all you do is connected everything to that box and powers everything to surround sound
