“Also work without AC adaptor? Does this adaptor also work without the AC adaptor plugged in, for portable (laptop) use, as some others I have seen do? Those only require the power adaptor when power needs dictate.”

• My flash drive and hotspot work fine w/o adapter. I would use it for an external hard drive though.

• Yes. I didn't need the adapter to connect my keyboard and mouse.
