A:Answer I have had my unit for several months connected to a HP Pavilion computer with Window 8.1. I have not had a single disconnect. I would suggest that you delete the drivers and reinstall. If you still have the issue, try connecting to another computer to see if it still disconnects. If so, perhaps defective unit. If not, you might have an issue with your computer. It would at least tell you which end to begin looking.
