Q: Questionwhat is the purpose of the ac adopter
Asked by usmcgbk.
- A:Answer Each USB 3.0 port provides 0.9 amps of power. 4 ports on the hub x 0.9amps each = 3.6amps. The one USB port you plug unto your computer with can't provide that much power- so you must supplement the power with a wall adapter.

Q: QuestionAlso work without AC adaptor?Does this adaptor also work without the AC adaptor plugged in, for portable (laptop) use, as some others I have seen do? Those only require the power adaptor when power needs dictate.
Asked by JR.
- A:Answer My flash drive and hotspot work fine w/o adapter. I would use it for an external hard drive though.

Asked by Novice.
- A:Answer It should not be an issue if the hubs are connected the additional power provided by the ac adapter. The power would no longer be drawn from the USB connection and it would only be used for data transfer.

Q: QuestionRegarding DX-U34H41: Why does my Hub unexpectedly drop the connection to my PC?Dynex USB 3.0 Hub constantly "disconnects" from my PC, causing information to be lost to attached HDD, and loss of Bluetooth connection from attached dongle. Why will this device not maintain a constant connection?
Asked by Anonymous.
- A:Answer I have had my unit for several months connected to a HP Pavilion computer with Window 8.1. I have not had a single disconnect. I would suggest that you delete the drivers and reinstall. If you still have the issue, try connecting to another computer to see if it still disconnects. If so, perhaps defective unit. If not, you might have an issue with your computer. It would at least tell you which end to begin looking.

Q: Questioncan the 4-port hub be USB connected to a wireless router for wireless access to the end devices
Asked by Jaime'.
- A:Answer Yes but not all devices will be compatible. Router and drives as well as the hub will play part in to if the devices will or will not work. Generally USB is UPNP. I use a POWERED USB 3.0 hub connected to my Netgear Nighthawk, it works fine with 2 USB 3.0 HDDs.
