“Product reliability We bought this shredder several months ago. We have used it to shred only a few pieces of paper. It is not working any longer. Before this, we had bought same model earlier and returned it as it had also gone bad. Is this what we should be expecting from this model?”

Yes. After about 8 months, mine would do nothing when I placed a piece of paper into it. Then, 20 seconds later it would realize "oh hey, I need to shred this!" and it would eat it up. Now, about a year later it is totally dead. Right when the warranty expired.

Please try again later.I'm just a customer so I'm not sure on what the standard for these is, but I've purchased one for my home office and used it for 6 months without a problem and then also bought a second one for my office at work. I don't use them extensively. Only about 5-10 pages daily (if even that) but I haven't had a problem with these at all. No promises on this, but Dynex is a Best Buy Brand. They manufacture it, so the warranty should be easy to be taken care of since it's right in-house. You'll probably have to call 888-Best-Buy for warranty stuff though. Good Luck.
