QuestionI just purchased a Dynex display port to HDMI cable 2 hours ago to connect a brand new Dell monitor to a Dell laptop which is only 2 months old. Connections fit but it is not detecting the monitor. Monitor is plugged to power. Drivers installed, nothing.

- Answer First, it would be helpful to have a idea what a "Data Port" is. Are you referring to DisplayPort? DVI? VGA? USB type B? You did not provide nearly enough information to get a meaningful answer. Some televisions have a "data port" that can be used for firmware upgrades, but is mostly just a USB-A connector that you can use to get power to drive a Roku stick.
