One of your devices must have an HDMI port (the tv most likely has one), but your Chromebook has to have a mini-display port (Thunderbolt 2). If not, buy a cable with two plugs that match your devices.

The “mini display” is also known, in Apple parlance, as Thunderbolt 2. That’s the end I used for the back of my Mac and the HDMI for the back of my television. Just identify your port options on your Chromebook and television and buy a cable to match. There are multiple combinations. I think your television most likely has an HDMI; I don’t know what your Chromebook has in terms of ports.
