• You can, but if the audio you are playing is in stereo (which most everything is) you're only going to get sound from either the left or right channel depending on which color you plug in. It's not terribly bad, unless the music purposefully switches channels during the song for effect. Also, some songs have certain audio tracks recorded at a louder volume on one side, such as certain back up vocals or instruments. They do make an adapter that will merge the red and white into a single black RCA jack. This is probably what you are looking for.
