I would take out the staples beforehand. I can only imagine that there will be faster wear and tear of the blades if you leave the staples in. Not to mention paper jams as well. -cheers
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I wouldn't shred stapled documents because the Dynex 6 sheet cross shredder is relatively cheap-- compared to other shredders-- at just under 30 dollars and isn't designed for tougher, bigger shredding jobs.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I am not going to put staples through it to find out. My guess would be that staples might damage or dull the blades used to cut the paper. Why not just tear the corner off with the staple and drop it in the container, shred the rest, problem solved.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. The manual states "Do not shred paper with paperclips or staples". Another section of the manual states, "Prepare paper to be shredded by removing staples and paper clips..." This shredder does NOT accept staples. Remove staples before shredding any paper.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Big staples might damage or dull the cutters but I don't think a small staple here and there is going to kill the shredder. My old one was damaged worse by shredding credit cards, so even though this one says it shreds credit cards I probably won't use it for that.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I don't know of a shredder that's cool with staples. That one would cost a whole lot more money.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. The owners manaul is the corect answer.
