• No, this cord is not for that purpose. You need an ethernet cord to hard wire the router to the tv. However, you said you want to connect WIFI, that means no cord, so I'm not sure why you are asking about a cord.

• You should take the router into Best Buy and ask them directly. What I use the cord for is to run sound from the TV into the subwoofer for the surround sound. Most newer TV’s connect directly to the Wi Fi without cords
