- Answer Hi Ralph, this is Kelly with Dyson. This tool won't have any type of spinning brush bar or mechanism to dig up dirt/debris, but will rely solely on the suction of your machine. You should be ok but if you're using it in conjunction with a flexible hose, you'll want to be careful with picking up any type of glass or sharp objects. Kind wishes, Kelly Dyson Customer Support

- Answer Hi Chuck, this is Kelly with Dyson. The articulating hard floor tool was intended for use with our upright and canister model vacuums. You CAN use it with your cord-free V8 Animal, however an adaptor piece would be needed, that would fit between the tool and your vacuum. This adaptor can be purchased right on the Dyson website. - Answer Absolutely! I have a vinyl "wood" plank floor and it works like a charm without scratching. In fact, that's the reason I bought this. It has soft bristles and goes under all my furniture to get those hard to reach fuzz balls.

- Answer Not by itself. I bought it for a V11 and I had to buy an adapter for it. Also the suction power is not very good. Dust stays in the brush.

The articulating hard floor tool was designed for use with our upright and canister machines, and really only compatible with the older Dyson V6™ machines.
