An extension cord won't help you make the hose longer fyi.. Also if you check Dyson.com/support, they can answer your questions there.

You can, however, use a tool such as the multi-angle brush: https://www.dyson.com/support/journey/spare-details.917646-01, to reach into higher areas such as your ceiling.
