Hi there, this is Kelly with Dyson. It truly depends on your carpeting. The Ball Animal does have very powerful suction and a self-adjusting cleaner head to seal in suction across all flooring types. On some thicker or more plush carpeting surfaces, you might find that the machine does feel hard to push due to the suction. You can disable the brush bar on these models as well, should you occur any issues with the brush bar. Best wishes, Kelly Dyson Customer Support
