“If this model is powered by suction are there any dyson canister vacuums that are motorized. I am asking because I currently own a dyson canister vacuum that I purchased 5 years ago that is not very good at picking up anything on rugs.”

Hi there, this is Krystal with Dyson. All Dyson Canister vacuums have a turbine head which is powered by suction. Dyson uprights are powered by a motor. Best Wishes, Krystal Dyson Customer Service

Now I'm an elite plus member and having the 45 day return policy so I gave this product a shot. The first time I used this product I truly wanted to see what it could do. My other canister vac has electric brush unit so I vacuumed an area rug with my old unit then went over the top with the new Dyson big ball and wow that thing picked up a ton of dust and dog hair after the fact of cleaning it with my old vacuum. Now if ya don't believe it try for your self. I promise you won't regret it.

I already own a stain canister with floor motorized attachment- it is almost 9 yrs old and loosing suction and is why I purchased this model. This model feels cheap and not as well made as the dyson I already own.
