• Yes, but it only takes the lightest squeeze to run so very easy on your hand.

• Hello, This is Miella from Dyson. The Dyson V10 Animal Pro cordless machine does utilize the trigger mechanism, so if the trigger is not pressed, the machine is not engaged. Hope this helps! Miella Dyson Customer Support

• Yes you do. There is not an on/off switch that will keep it running.

• Yes you have to squeeze the trigger, but it is a very light squeeze and I have never had finger fatigue while vacuuming.
