“How critical is it to place the BP03 unit at some distance spaced away from the wall? I'd like to place it in a corner of the room almost right up against the two adjoining walls. Will that significantly reduce the effectiveness or quality of operation?”

I don’t believe so. Mine is close to the wall. I dont believe it has any effect. The unit is not sensing any scent from the wall paint. If your wall is freshly painted, I would keep it away for about a week until it thoroughly dry. The unit will display if it is sensing an a scent.
