Hello Patti, this is Kelly with Dyson. The Dyson V11 Outsize cord-free vacuum does feature our torque drive cleaner head which does have a spinning brush bar. It's not self-cleaning, and we do recommend regular brush bar maintenance, including hair removal, to ensure that hair isn't allowed to accumulate around the brush bar spindles, causing issues with your cleaner head.
