Hello Carol, this is Kelly with Dyson. The Dyson V11 Outsize does have a washable filter, which would need to be washed every 30 days. Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.The filter is removable and can be cleaned by rinsing it under water. The display on the vacuum will actually notify you when the filter needs to be checked. New filters can also be purchased from the Dyson website.
