“I am considering buying the V11 Outsize. Must this vacuum be physically attached to the charger when not in use or is just the battery attached to the charger? I ask because I cannot hang a charger up high anywhere in my house.”

Hi Anna, this is Kelly with Dyson. This is a great question! Using the dock is completely optional; you do not need to use that. The dock itself doesn't provide charge to the battery. When using the wall mounted dock, the charger cable will thread behind it - one end plugs into your electrical outlet and the other end of the cable snaps into the dock so that when the machine is docked, it's receiving a charge. You can charge the machine by just plugging the charger into the vacuum as needed. Best wishes, Kelly Dyson Customer Support
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.For the V11 Outsize it would be possible to easily charge battery since this unit comes with a spare snap in battery pack and a seperate charger. Just set the vacuum somewhere convenient and manually plug charger into battery charge port.
