Hello Punky, this is Kelly with Dyson. The Dyson V11 Torque Drive cord-free vacuum charges in 4.5 hours from a completely depleted battery, to a full charge. While the vacuum can pick up pet and human hair, we do recommend regular maintenance of the brush bar, which includes removal of any hair. Left to accumulate, it could potentially cause issues with the brush being able to spin properly. Best wishes, Kelly Dyson Customer Support
