• yes but it switches automatically between carpet and hard surfaces

• Hello there, this is Kelly with Dyson. The Dyson V11 Torque Drive cord-free does have a spinning brush bar, within the cleaner head. This brush bar cannot be turned off. Best wishes, Kelly Dyson Customer Support
