Hi Suz, this is Carissa with Dyson. We appreciate your interest in our V6 Animal. All of our V6 cordless units do come switched on to MAX mode out of the box. The V6 should run between 16-20 minutes in regular mode and 6 minutes in max mode. While some customers use the V6 as their sole vacuum at home, the V6 line was designed with quick pick-ups in mind. If you find that 20 minutes would not be enough time, we also would recommend our compact upright or canister machines. We hope this information proves useful. Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I can say I have used for 30 minutes at full power. Do not expect long run times but you can finish probably two rooms with a charge. Sounds too little but you are going to like the results.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.on regular mode, it will run for 15-25 minutes, depending on the attachment. In Max mode, that is reduce a lot. Maybe 5-8 minutes.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Hi- Consumer Reports is pretty much spot on, but there are 2 settings: Regular and Max. "Regular" probably gets you the 13 min; "Max" gets you about 6-8 min with greater suction. It doesn't sound like a whole lot of time, but it's plenty to get the pet hair off the furniture or clean the living room. You won't be able to cover the whole house, but It's really not designed to do that. This is often the "Deal of the Day" for $200. If you can catch it on sale, buy it. No regrets here!

I don’t sit there with a watch but it’s different than when you have a plug in vacuum. You hold the button on, when you let go it turns off. We clear the floor then vacuum. I now have a five bedroom house, I bought a second one because I figured I would need it for the second floor but so far I haven’t killed it during a job. Also, I really love the attachments for this one over the Motorhead. I will never go back to a heavy clunker, this is such a comfortable way to clean.
