• Even though it says Mattress, it works fine on stairs and in cars.

• Hello there, This is Dan with Dyson. We would recommend any V6 or V8 cord-free stick vacuum for this purpose. They feature an extension wand that will make it easier to vacuum the stairs. However, it also has the ability to be used like a handheld by removing the wand and attaching tools directly to the bin. Best wishes, Dan
