Can you lock the trigger on the Dyson Animal V8 so you don't have to keep holding it down while vacuuming? null

I got this vacuum for Christmas and love it except for the trigger grip. I have arthritis and that position is painful. I keep trying to hold it a different way, but it doesn't work as well. This is a real pain. I can't believe they wouldn't design this with a permanent on option. Very poor design decision!

We just use a cable strip. When pressing it automatically falls down and holds the trigger.

Give us some credit and take away the hand held trigger. We can turn it off from room to room. Its ruined my tennis elbow. Huge fan of these stick vacuums but also a deal breaker for me. Sorry to say I'll have to seek another brand.

No you cannot lock the trigger, that would make too much sense. And Dyson rather spend money on advertising, instead of making their vacuums better.

Thank you all for your input. I have purchased the vacuum and it is really a great vacuum. Because of my arthritic fingers I wish there was a locking mechanism but I will deal with it.

No continuous on feature...uncomfortable after long vacuuming...Otherwise great suction, long running between charges...come on guys, a trigger lock is not all that expensive!!!

Perhaps Dyson could come up with an after-market gadget that one can use to lock the trigger on. Their engineers have good design ideas and suck a mechanism would be an easy task for them. ARE YOU LISTENING, DYSON?

Trigger must be held on to vacuum....just let the trigger go when going from place to place..I’m 80 years old with very small hands and some arthritis and have no trouble with it...BEST vacuum I’ve ever had.

The Dyson does not have a trigger switch hold mechanism, but I find it comfortable to hold the switch on for extended periods. You can also relax your hold whenever moving about, changing directions, etc.
