Is there any way to lock the power button on without having to hold it while I vacuum? null

Believe it or not at this price point there is no way to lock the power button. My friend got one, after 5 minutes her hand, wrist and forearm were exhausted. This is the most ridiculous design flaw ever and the answer given by the company is nonsensical. I won’t even get a watering wand attachment without a lock button. Imagine trying to get your house vacuumed in one go. This is a complete dealbreaker unless all you’re going to do is quick vacuum jobs.

An elastic band wrapped carefully around the handle and up over the motor section provides a very simple solution. Just pull down the trigger and roll over the band when you want to lock the power on.... otherwise if you can using the trigger certainly saves the battery. Great for when using the hose attachment.

Cut a small piece of foam (I used a piece of a kids pool tube). Cut it in a v with the small side the width of the distance from the trigger to the housing. Angle it wider. It slips in and out easily, is soft, and works well. Cut it small enough that your fingers can still go up where the trigger is if you have big hands. I only use it when I’m vacuuming for a longer period of time. I store it between two holders of the wall mount. Cheers...

Horrible design having to hold in the button entire time vacuuming ! Stupid expensive for no power button. If you squeeze the trigger to hard the battery is located in the palm of your hand that comes loose . Dumb Dysfunctional Dyson

I bought this for my parents, and did not realize the power button was a trigger and does not have the option to lock-would be super hard for a senior(with arthritis or handicapped in some way to not have a lock). Great vacuum though for someone that this is not an issue for. Great for stairs or vacuuming the car.

Will not buy. The idea that i have to keep my thumb pressed on a button or it will not function is patently ridiculous. Sorry but will reinvest in Shark product for a whole lot less, even if i do have to replace it sooner which i may not have to do.

I was considering buying a Dyson v11 until I found out that the power trigger does not incorporate a lock on facility’ for older people with arthritis etc this is totally useless,why can’t Dyson come up with something to get around this issue, it’s not rocket science.

The answer is the Shark Rocket that I settled on due to this problem. great suction. no holding the button down. $249. You CAN hold down the “power boost” button whenever you want but I don’t really see it needs the extra “boost”.

I used a zip tie and kept it loose enough so it easily rotates around the handle and the trigger yet when it's pushed towards the motor housing it presses the trigger and when slid back it releases. Works like magic!

A $.10 solution, take a Velcro cable wrap, minimum 6” and use it on the trigger. Make sure you wrap it tight enough to keep trigger in the on position. Easily removed when done. Keep it loosely attached to the trigger for storage.

Elastic ponytail holder; cut once, wrap around trigger assembly and knot. It easily moves over trigger when needed

Yes, there is and it is a SIMPLE FIX I just looped 2 thicker sized rubber bands together to wrap around inside handle (where your palm closes around) next to the red button. I tied these 2 rubber bands in a knot once I had them wrapped completely around the cylinder, which encases the red button. Therefore, you can then roll the tightened rubber band back and forth, up or down the handle...Pull the tied rubber band down and across the red button to keep the button pressed down AND ON. When you're finished, pull the rubber band up and back around the handle (where your palm wraps around) and it stays off. Should be SUCH a simple concept for Dyson, because SOOO many peeps have complained about this that this is a "deal breaker" for customers trying to decide on an EXPENSIVE VACUUM! I absolutely LOVE EVERYTHING about this V15! I have German Shepherds and it is VERY FAST and UNBELIEVABLY GREAT at making all the dust and hair evaporate....just perfectly!!

No there is not and I hate that! It has good suction but a very poor design for using more then 10 minutes. No one wants to press a trigger for that long to clean....bad design. Please create a better product for more than 10 minute use....could be spectacular

It is very annoying. I was able to find a trigger lock by Vanmu on Amazon. It works well, but the vacuum should have already come with a lock setting instead of me having to buy something separately.

No - but the trigger has such an ultra light touch it won't be a problem. I didn't think I would like having to keep a finger on the trigger either but it's really not a problem. I do find myself gripping the handle and trigger too tightly so I have to constantly work on loosening my grip because it is really not needed. I really do love it.

No but the trigger is very light. Just by holding the vacuum you are automatically squeezing the trigger.

Waa waa waa. I have SEVERE arthritis AND am a senior. My Dyson V8, is the best vacuum I've ever used. Y'all are making a mountain out of a mole hill. There are those of you that seem to be negative and find fault with everything. Then there is the rest of the world. Grow up.
