Hi there, Without a subscription, you can check the real-time status of your SmartSensor for Doors and Windows in the ecobee app and manually adjust your thermostat. Without a subscription, you do not receive automatic alerts or automatic thermostat adjustments when a door or window is left open. The Smart Security subscription is required for features like: Alerts when a door or window is left open. Automatically pausing the HVAC system when a door or window is open for an extended time.
