  • QuestionCan this be used for exterior-outdoor wifi?

    Asked by Martin.

    • Answer Hi Martin! Yes, technically this can be used outdoors, but it's not recommended as it isn't certified for outdoor use. A better outdoor WiFi option would be the eero Outdoor 7. This device is certified to withstand outdoor elements while still providing a quality WiFi connection. Hope this helps, have a great day!

  • QuestionIf I run a cat 6 cable from my house to my detached garage and then connect this device will this allow my garage to have wifi?

    Asked by ManCave.

    • Answer Hello ManCave Yes although there are several considerations. If you already have an existing eero network this will work fine, it will need a hardwired connection from one of the existing eero. If you do not have any eero already you can still use this to make an eero network. The other consideration is providing power to this eero. If you do not already have a PoE switch or an eero PoE gateway to provide power over ethernet you will need a PoE injector (it does not need to be PoE+ or PoE++, regular PoE will work). The connection will go ethernet cat6->PoE Injector->eero PoE 6. There is a separate eero Ac adapter available for this model if you wish to power it that way. I hope this information helps, have a great day!

  • QuestionIs this compatible with ring router from eero? Can it connect wireless?

    Asked by Bob80.

    • Answer If you are referring to the Ring Alarm Pro, yes. The Ring Alarm Pro has an eero 6 built into it and all eero models work with all other eero models. You will still need, like with any other eero network, one eero hardwired into your modem/ONT/Internet source via ethernet, this eero would be the head/gateway eero, other eero can connect to the gateway eero wired or wirelessly.
