QuestionIf I'm getting rid of cable TV and only using my ISP for internet (rather than with a cable TV bundle) and I'm only going to be using streaming services for TV, do I still need a modem?

- Answer Yes, the modem is needed for your broadband connection to your ISP. You will drop only the TV service from your contract and keep the internet service with the cable company if you are happy with them or you can switch to another ISP if the cable internet is bad. You will need good Internet service for streaming and the modem is the gateway to the internet.

QuestionWill this work with a CenturyLink modem? Right now I have an extenderfrom Verizon and it isn't working as well as the guy told me it would.

- Answer Yes, this should work fine. You will have one eero hardwired to that modem. The other eero can connect either wirelessly or wired to the head/gateway eero and they will broadcast the same network, extending the range and speed you can get.

- Answer I have a 2500sf, 2 story house and was getting 7mbs, the router is upstairs and I still get 650+ mbs downstairs.and everyone is on they're phones, tv's or computers.

- Answer No you can still buy the earlier versions and they still get a/w updates. But you won’t benefit from the brutal speeds of the eero pro 6

QuestionI have DSL so not very fast but WiFi in home is slowing down, I think due to lots of smart home devices. Would eero mesh connect to DSL modem and then improve internal WiFi by upgrading me to WiFi 6 and also being able to handle more devices?

- Answer That was my main reason to buy the pro 6. The pro 6 has a tri band Wi-Fi system and if you have smart home devices this one is the choice. The standard eero 6 is dual band only and therefore more devices share the same band thus congested traffic

QuestionCan we setup EERO to utilize isolated 5G & 2.4G bands rather that the mesh wifi configuration. I actually prefer having devices on the network in specified identified wifi bands.

QuestionI just bought this and not sure the sales guys gave me the right product. While I haven’t completed set up I’m wondering if both units have to be plugged into Ethernet or just one and I place the other elsewhere in the house to work wirelessly?

- Answer As long as the main eero is plugged hardwire to the modem the secondary eero can be used wireless. I have both hardwire. Hope that helps.

- Answer The first eero should be hardwire to the modem. If you can hardwire the on to the basement they be better but if not you can use the other two wireless.

QuestionI have an out building at about 150 feet from my house nighthawk router using a LINKSYS extender. Would using an EERO single device improve connectivity and drop offs at remotor would two EERO devices improve a lot? This is going thru two building walls

- Answer The Eero 6 Pro is the router. As long as you’re getting Internet to your computer your current modem should work just fine.

- Answer Yes, won't get the same performance on the extender as the 6 pro, but probably pretty close for most homes.
