Hi, Sandy! Thank you for reaching out. The voltage rating of the dryer is 208/240v, while the washer is 120v. As per installation instructions, there's no alternative other than an outside vent. The exhaust system must be vented outside with an approved vent hood. No screen or grate of any mesh size is allowed to cover the exhaust opening.
