Should work with 1 hdmi port. As long as the computer is on and running the necessary software to output the picture you should be able to see the capture card output on the monitor. It will be a pain to go back and forth from computer to capture card but it'll work.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I’m thinking you have the image goofed up in your head. Think out of GPU, into Capture Card, out to monitor. So your gpu will go into the capcard, then the capcard will go out to the monitor. In other words, the capture card is inserted in the chain between your gpu and screen. Hope this helps :)
