This will work - but based upon your camera model, you may not receive a full HDMI signal. Check the output signal of your camera model to see what the HDMI out is - I know many of the EOS Canon line do not output a full hdmi signal.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I don't have an HDMI camera, but on the box it says any unencrypted HDMI will work. I use my Wii U on mine. You could always return it if it doesn't work with your camera. They are pretty good about stuff like that.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I bought it to capture video and stream it to the internet with wirecast. I could capture and stream with the software that came with the unit. But wirecast would not see it as a capture card, so I ended up returning the unit. I bought a blackmagic capture card.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. As long as your system can handle the load then yes it will work.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. If the camera has a native HDMI output it'll work fine. If it outputs via USB or some other proprietary format, you're out of luck.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.on elgato's website, they have a more in-depth FAQ about streaming via camera, but it would appear by this statement (under a section entitled "Streaming video from cameras"): that theanswer is yes: "Any video that legato game capture HD60 can accept, can also be streamed. If you hook up your camera to EGCHD60, then you can stream live or recorded video to services like Twitch, YouTube or Ustream. You can slo connect to a RTMP sever of your choosing." Important to note that while most cameras are not HDCP, if yours happens to be, it will NOT work.
