Hi, The Canon Vixia HRF500 is not on Elgato's list of tested cameras for the Cam Link 4K. I suggest checking this video: https://youtu.be/o6KsYpEPoss. A USB 2.0 port cannot be adapted to USB 3.0 since USB 3.0 uses faster transfer speeds. Feel free to let us know if you have any additional questions: support.elgato.com -Albert
