It depends on whether or not the content you are capturing from your Fire Stick is HDCP protected or not. HDCP is a digital rights management scheme over HDMI that prevents the recording of certain content. Some content may be recordable but any of the big services such as Netflix, Hulu, etc will not be unless you also buy a device that removes the HDCP from the HDMI bitstream - which is not included with this.
