• Jessi, It will allow you to capture game and party chat audio. There are two options. The first, using the software (OBS is the usual software), you will need to add two inputs. One being video source, the second being an audio source, both of which would come from the Elgato. The second, you would purchase a chat link cable, which connects the controller, headset, and the Elgato. There are plenty of videos online detailing both. :)

• If you can hear the party chat on your TV then you will hear the party chat on the HDMI source. This captures all audio from the source.
