The TV is being use as a Monitor so that shouldn't matter, as long you have the right hookups, the Hdmi, the usb to usbc, then their should be no problem. the Macbook Pro best to have a USB 3 Port for better connectivity. the only thing that's questionable is if you can record with maximum quality 4k. depends on what your Macbook pro runs. Regardless you should be able to record 1080p at least.
