You just need a USB-A connector. For some reason, you can't use a hub. It has to connect directly to the computer.

While my laptop is not a MSI... It plugged in and worked PERFECTLY!!! It was discovered as a usb device.... and took off running after setting it up...

It will hook up to any Mac or Windows machine with a free USB port. Performance using a USB hub is not guaranteed, because the device needs power from the USB port in order to work.

As long as the laptop has a USB port, it should work fine.
