U put the kettle on the stand and the stand has a cord that u have to plug in the wall
Then you have to press the button on the kettle to turn it on
A:AnswerPops out of the spigot towards front. Don't lose filter or it will release steam like crazy. Little tough to reinstall. I would just leave it in and rinse it out through the spigot. It's a little flimsy and I can see it breaking really over time with heat stress.
