Will it hold up to the weight of cast iron pans? null

Let's think about this one. Are you talking about a Dutch oven or a regular frying pan? Under normal circumstances, would you put a Dutch oven-sized pot on your regular stove? I wouldn't because it is too cumbersome to place, lift, remove. So, with this in mind, if you are referring to just a regular cast iron pan you would use on your stove, yes, you can use it on this one. Just remember, the element is about 5.5" wide. Common sense should always prevail.

The cord is approximately 2.5 ft.
