Yes this switch requires a neutral wire as well as a hub to control it. You can control the switch manually but then what's the point of purchasing a Z-Wave switch?

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Yes it requires a neutral wire and does require some sort of Z Wave hub to operate that functionality although it will do simple on off with the switch without it. I use Samsung SmartThings.
