The 6 Volt EL2CR5 is the exact same battery as the 6 Volt 2CR5. An online purveyor of all types of batteries, ONLYBatteries.com, states on its website: "2CR5 Photo Lithium Batteries are 6 Volt batteries, commonly used in today’s digital cameras and flashes. They are heavily manufactured by leaders in battery production such as: Duracell, Panasonic, Sanyo and Energizer. The 2CR5 is a disposable (single-use, non rechargeable) lithium camera battery." So, it seems to be a relatively standard battery for most cameras. To be absolutely positive that you're about to purchase the correct battery, perhaps take your Chinon with you to Best Buy and confirm the above information with a Best Buy Team Member.
