- this would be an EXCELLENT choice for school work. It is NOT a "gamer", it will play SOME games, but high video 3d games will only work at slower frame raes.

I bought my wife one August of 2016, and when my laptop died, I went and purchased one for myself. I will say that the laptop runs hot. While this is normal and has not caused a thermal shut down, if you have the exhaust ports pointed in certain spots, it can become uncomfortable. It has plenty of speed to listen to music, either on youtube, files from HD, or any service of your choosing, and to do school work. Also, wait closer to the beginning of school. You can get an extra discount for being a college student. I believe we received a $150.00 student discount.

I think I simply asked too much of it and the cooling solution wasn't sufficient to keep the processor cool under load. Mind most of my games are ancient. If you attempt to game with it, you will have issues.
