“On the 3850 can you use Black Toner Only in all of the reservoirs or must you use the colored Toner in the 3 color reservoirs?”

• Hi, Yes, you can add black ink in all reservoirs and also color ink in the black reservoir. Printer doesn't know what ink its using. But, why do you want to do that? If you need only a mono-chrome printer, then buy a non HP black and white laser printer from BestBuy for only $169.99. Like; https://www.bestbuy.com/site/hp-laserjet-m140we-wireless-black-and-white-laser-printer-with-6-months-of-instant-ink-included-with-hp-white/6484886.p?skuId=6484886 I will never add black ink in all reservoirs and ruin my $450 printer. Hope this helps.

• Hello KMJ. The ET-3850 is designed to be a four-color printer. We recommend using T502 Cyan, Magenta, Yellow, and Black Ink in their respective individual reservoir. Using all black ink in the machine could lead to print quality issues and impact the warranty coverage on the machine. Regards, Kevin - The Epson Team.
