Hi Thomas69, The EcoTank Pro ET-5150 DOES DO scan to text. The Epson OCR (Optical Character Recognition) component is available for free download for Windows and Mac OS X. You can use Epson Scan 2 or ScanSmart to scan documents and save them as searchable PDFs. Regards, Mark - The Epson Team.
