“Will this printer run with only black ink in the black Inkwell?”

• It is recommended that you have all the ink colors installed because the ink is acting as a coolant for the printer heads that will burn otherwise if they run dry for too long. I believe that every printer has the self protecting mode and stops printing if the ink runs out.

• Don't know. My previous Epson 3640 would not. You can put only black in and try it. Although when it sets itself up it is looking for all 4 inks to be there.
