Hi Phil, Home Cinema projectors like the Home Cinema 2250 are best suited for indoor viewing. At 2,700 lumens, bright conditions, especially direct sunlight can make the picture appear too dim. If the projector is closer to the screen or viewing surface it can appear to be brighter, but the image will be smaller. So, it really depends on how bright your outdoor viewing area is.
