- Answer Hi, I haven’t tried to scan slides or negatives. The scanner does a good job on printed film with good color. I am still learning all the ins and outs of the tool you use to make adjustments to the scanned photo. I have sen it work beautifully with Photo Shop. It is critical you place it on a flat surface and allow plenty of room to open the lid slowly by the front indent in the lid. It is a slow process as each photo/document must be placed separately.. CG

- Answer It connects by USB to your computer. I have not tried it, but if all you want is to scan and save, I'm assuming connecting it to a hard drive will work. Look at the Epson website and see if the scanner can operate without its software. Good luck!

- Answer My mother had a lot of these types of slides and that is one of the formats the V600 scanner is designed to convert. There is a holder is included for many different types of negatives and I found it to be easy to use...with the exception of the large negatives (2"x2") that the scanner had trouble recognizing as negatives and scanned like a normal photo. If your doing the really small negatives, you'll have to order another holder on Amazon. They were around $10.00 when I looked about a month ago. I'm am a novice user and I found this scanner and the program easy to use.

QuestionOther sites say the v600 can handle 120 medium format film.... and that 120 is the same as 620 film. But in answer to a previous question, you said the limit was 31/4 and 21/4. But 120 and 620 film is larger.

- Answer Google or Wikipedia 120 film!! "120" film comes in different image "lengths", but the image height is 2-1/4", with the image length varying by the format of the camera being used. The various sizes of "120" are 2-1/4" by "X" (or 6cm x "X"cm). "120" (or 220, no paper backing except leader) provides images of 6cm x 4.5cm, 6cm x 6 cm, 6 x 7 , 6 x 8, 6x9, etc. 6x6 is 2-1/4" square (12 images), 6x7 is 2-1/4" x 2-3/4" (or "8X10" format -like in the Pentax 67, is 10images), 6x9 is 2-1/4" x 3-1/4" (8-images). The 120 negative holder that comes with the V-600 handles them all. 620 film is the same as 120 film, except the spool was thinner. I have MANY negs in 120, in 6x6, 6x7, and 6x8 (yeh, I'm an old f*rt..!), and they all fit fine in the V-600 large format holder -just read the instruction (download the full user manual from the Epson website).

- Answer No, it has a USB cable that must be connected to a computer loaded with Epson Scan software.

- Answer Yes, You push on a sort of button that holds the white background in place on the top - allowing you to remove it. there is a lighted strip behind the white background that will illuminate the film strip, or 35 mm Slides. On the platen (glass bottom) are notches for placing plastic inserts (one for 35 mm slides, one for photo camera film strips, and one for larger film. You select film (vs reflective) and the scanner will recognize and make thumbnails of them. There are also some editing tools for any mode you select to improve your scan.

- Answer Yes, the V600 does work with Windows 10, and I am sure that you will be able to download any future Windows updates to your computer. You can also scan mounted 35mm slides, as well as 35mm film negatives and unmounted 35mm slide film. I use it primarily for medium format film scans, and you can scan 6 x 4.5 up to 6 x 22 film and unmounted medium format slide film. Hope this helps you.
